The Trust was established by the Football Association of Wales (FAW) in 1996 to promote and develop the game of association football. In addition to being a registered Charity it is a Company limited by guarantee.

The Trust has two principle aims; firstly, to encourage more boys and girls to participate in football; and secondly, to identify and develop talented players to support the future success of National teams. The Company’s registered Office is based at the Vale Resort in the Vale of Glamorgan. The Trust’s principle stakeholder is the FAW, the governing body for football in Wales. However, significant funding and support is received from the Welsh Assembly Government, the Sports Council for Wales and local authorities.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is the governing body for association football in Wales and was formed 125 years ago. It is a limited company comprised of 27 non-executive Directors, who are representatives of the constituent clubs and leagues in Wales. The company is responsible for devising and administering relevant rules and regulations to its members and also organises domestic competitions and international representative teams.
